The Tech Middle Powers Workshop at the University of Bonn on 2–3 May 2024 brought together leading experts from Europe, the Middle East, and Asia to examine how cross regional cooperation in science, technology, and innovation can help middle powers navigate an era of intensifying superpower competition.

Discussions focused on shared vulnerabilities and new opportunities in AI, cyber, space, defence technologies, and energy systems. Using the Israel–Germany partnership as a core model, the workshop demonstrated how two advanced tech ecosystems can align their strengths, manage growing strategic pressures, and build practical frameworks and joint projects that enhance resilience across both Europe and the Middle East.
