Rethinking Strategic Autonomy for Kenya and East Africa

Geo Horizon co-hosted a high-level roundtable in Nairobi focused on the future of Kenya’s strategic autonomy in a rapidly evolving geoeconomic landscape. Bringing together leaders from government, business, academia, and civil society, the event examined how Kenya can move beyond single-dependency models and develop a diversified mix of partnerships across Asia, the Middle East, Europe, and Africa.
Through expert panels and breakout sessions, participants explored new partnership models with Japan, Korea, the UAE, and the EU, and discussed trilateral frameworks and digital transformation strategies. The discussions produced actionable pathways for the coming year, highlighting opportunities in infrastructure, technology, skills development, and governance.
